REVELATION 14:12
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
The patience of the saints will be called for in the time the third angel’s warning is given, for the church of Satan will take offence at the warning and will persecute the church of God — they that ‘keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.’
Jesus summarised ‘the commandments of God’ in two commandments: “… Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-40) Jesus crystallized the commandments in a new commandment, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” (John 13:34) The church of God, therefore, will love even as Jesus loves.
The ‘faith of Jesus’ is the faith that Jesus lived by. Those who live by the ‘faith of Jesus’ will love even as Jesus loved. The apostle Paul revealed that he lived by such a faith, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
