REVELATION 17:1
And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will show unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters.
One of the servants who will administer the seven last plagues, invited John to see ‘the judgment of the great whore’. A whore is a woman who engages in sexual intercourse in exchange for money. Since in prophecy, a woman is symbolic of a church, the ‘great whore’ is symbolic of a great prostitute church. As there are only two churches in the spiritual realm: the church of Christ and the church of Satan: the ‘great whore’ is symbolic of the church of Satan. The ‘many waters’ upon which the church of Satan was described to sit, were later interpreted to be ‘peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues’. (Revelation 17:15)
