Revelation 1:3
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
To keep those things which are written in the words of this prophecy, one must first understand them, for one cannot keep what one has not understood. Just as it takes faith to understand the words of this prophecy, it will take faith to keep the understanding of these words in the heart. The reason why he who reads, they who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep the things which are written therein, are blessed is because the time is at hand. They will witness the fulfilment of the words of this prophecy. Their blessing will be somewhat like that of the old man Simeon when he witnessed the fulfilment of the messianic prophecy in the baby Jesus: “Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, 29Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: 30For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, 31which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; 32A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.” (Luke 2:28-32)
