Revelation 10:9

And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.

John did as he was instructed and asked Jesus Christ to give him the Revelation prophecy. Jesus told John to take it, and to eat it up. To eat the Revelation prophecy is to believe it, for only through faith can the truths contained in the Revelation prophecy be assimilated in the heart. That the Lord told John that the little book would make his belly bitter, reveals that the truths contained in the Revelation prophecy will make the heart bitter. Some of the things prophesied of in the Revelation prophecy will constitute the bitterest events ever in the history of mankind. The holocaust will pale into insignificance in the killing of the fourth part of the earth by the ‘pale horse’ movement. The Lord also told John that the little book would be as sweet as honey in his mouth. Though the things prophesied of in the Revelation prophecy will make the heart bitter, the understanding of these truths will be as sweet as honey. The Psalmist wrote, “How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (Psalm 119:103)
